Your pet's behavior is of special interest to Dr. Phillips.

Things like hard to walk pets, barking and toilet mistakes are not as uncommon as you might think. The number one reason for most animals being euthanized, or surrendered to shelters today is related to behavior problems.

Many problems have a physical component to the behavior. For example, a cat that urinates outside of the litterbox might have crystals in its urine, a bladder infection, or some other problem which can make it painful to urinate. This cat is likely asking for help by urinating in front of you daily. And that dog that suddenly bites could be painful somewhere, or be ill. If your pets' behavior, attitude, or normal routine changes suddenly, it is possible that they are not just misbehaving.

After we have done a physical exam and have run the appropriate tests, and are sure that your pet is free of physical problems, we will book an appointment with one of our AHT's to go over some changes that can be made in your household to decrease that pets' bad habit. Most problems are quite involved and require that everyone in the house follow consistent methods of training and that everyone has lots of patience. The results are worth the effort though, as a loving, attentive, well behaved pet is a joy to us all.

Give us a call and help us reduce the number of unwanted pets in the world.

We also have a great list of obedience trainers to help you not only teach puppies, but to remind older dogs of their manners.
